The amount of nerd in my apartment is unfathomable
Good morning! Here’s a wonderful fail from EVK to start your day.
Well daily blogging clearly isn’t happening, so I’m changing it up to posting when there’s enough relevant stuff to talk about/I have time.
Labor Day Weekend! Woo! That means picnics, going to the park, hanging out at the beach….
NAH. EFF THAT SHIT. LET’S PLAY SOME VIDEO GAMES AND SOME PEN AND PAPER D&D!!!

Yeah basically. Two of my roommates and I along with some other friends are in the process of planning out a way to play some weekly D&D. Last night after some KBBQ at a restaurant with the sketchiest service ever (maybe I’ll stop going with white people) we got home and spent a good few hours rolling our characters. Meet Leeto Siannodel, the Moon Elf Ranger! (I could hear my reproductive organs groaning in sadness as I typed that)
Hopefully today we’re going to get to playing a quick dungeon just to get our feet wet. And get some gametime in my new playthrough of Neverwinter Nights 2. Oh, and I’ll probably get to doing my homework sometime today too…
Day Nine - Colorcoordinating my soda drinking with my t-shirt because I can
Day 6-9 - This may happen. A lot.
So the weekend came and went and I totally didn’t have the chance to blog! Let’s get you up to speed.
Saturday (Day 6)
Filmed a harry potter parody video (which I’m editing now) in the afternoon, and went to a party later that night after a couple more rounds of Munchkin with the roomies. It was actually the rush party for my friend’s frat, but Troy Phi tends to end up at all of their parties anyways.
Sunday (Day 7)
Video games. ALL DAY. ERRYDAY. Picked up Sins of a Solar Empire and almost bought a couple more nerf guns during a spontaneous Target trip with my roommates. I can’t wait to watch my GPA lower once I realllly get into Sins.
Monday (Day 8)
After having a three-day weekend it was ridiculously hard to get back into the swing of things. I’ll have to find a way to make this work haha.
Today! (Day 9)
CHICKEN NUGGET TUESDAYS BABY! So there’s two dining halls on campus: EVK and Parkside. Most people would tell you that Parkside is clearly the superior, but I’d say EVK’s been giving Parkside a pretty good run for its money lately. In the morning they serve breakfast burritos quite often, and they always have nachos at lunch and dinner. And of course, their trademark chicken nugget Tuesdays is back this year.

Awwwwwww yeaaaaaaaa (don’t pay note to the fact that I’m eating this beauty alone)
This is more of a quick post, because as I type this I’m both worrying about finishing out my PSG role strong and getting this damn video edited by Thursday’s Troy Phi meeting (which you should totally come to! ZHS 159 at 6:30PM!) Junior year is definitely proving to be a doozy.
Day 5 - Yeah this pic is the morning of day 6 again. Late nights playing games with friends = KO before getting to blog lol.
Day 5 - I can get used to having no class on Fridays
This is my first semester with no class on Friday, and as such I proceeded to nerd the crap out of it to celebrate the end of the first week of class.

The day began with not one, but two of the amazing chorizo breakfast burritos from Armando’s Food Truck, USC’s best kept secret that isn’t so secret anymore (for the curious, he now sets up shop at Jefferson and McClintock on weekdays).

I then proceeded to delve into a realm of video gaming that i had previously left untouched. I installed League of Legends ;_____; I haven’t played this type of game since DoTA back in high school, but I was definitely digging the cartoonish visuals and the heroes I tried out were satisfying to play. If you’re curious my ign is Leeto Of Troy.

After doing a bit of work so the day didn’t feel too lost, my roommates and I hit a bit of a nostalgia tone by playing Mario Kart 64 through an emulator on my laptop connected to the tv with XBOX 360 controllers. Yeah, we’re kind of awesome.

A few hours after that, my roommate Ben’s friend Hannah came over and we played a couple round of Munchkins. It’s a card game that pokes fun at rpgs and dungeon-crawlers and the goal of the game is to level yourself up to level 10. It’s super fun and there was definitely a good amount of trolling going on including everyone ganging up on me so I never made it past level 2 in the first game.
There’s really no other way to explain how awesome Friday was better than the title. I can get used to my new Fridays.
Day 4 - Now please excuse me while I enjoy my Friday off of classes. I smell an Armando’s Breakfast Burrito calling my name!
Day 4 - Not With a Fizzle, But With a Bonfire
So if you’ve been keeping track you’ll realize this post is actually coming out the morning of the 5th day. Certain, events, kept me away from my laptop last night and so I’m writing this post a little more retrospectively than others. And to be honest, this is something you can expect from basically every Thursday post. And I’ll tell you why.

This group of loons is USC Troy Philippines. They’re loud, crazy, enthusiastic, and sometimes even a little over the top. And without them, my college experience would not be anywhere near as amazing as it is right now. Last night was our welcome back bonfire, and after a few transportation setbacks we all made it to Dockweiler Beach. It was at this moment that I felt home once again around friends that I had been bonding with and getting to know over the past two years. It’s always a good time when Troy Phi is around.
The bonfire was a success and the after party even more so, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the year unfolds for the organization and what our newbies will bring to and get out of the club. This story is definitely a to be continued…
I really cannot let this continue. Roommate has put up even more NASA posters! Operation Out-Nerd-Roommate is a go.
Day 3 - A Brilliant Realization

Take a look at this schedule, and note that the one class on Friday basically only meets twice in the year.
As I was arriving home stressing over ROTC (this is a theme that I imagine will follow me the entire year al;kdjf;lakjd), I took a look at my calendar trying to figure out where my lab was being held and realized: Wednesdays are now the day before my last day of classes every week!

AWWWWW YEAAAAAAAA (enjoy the little things, ladies and gents).
Anywhovian, I stopped by SCAPE’s first gen meeting to embrace my XO’s instructions to calm down a little and prevent ROTC from taking over. SCAPE is an organization on campus, standing for the “Student Coalition for Asian-Pacific Empowerment.” I think that’s right, right Tracy and Kat? (lol so meta). The environment was quite cool and I met some interesting people, not to mention THE MOST AMAZING CHAIRS EVER. I have yet to taken a class in a room graced by such perfect chairs, and I was left with the yearning desire to continue my sittage for longer than appropriate (awkward).
I can definitely see myself continuing to go to SCAPE events, but for now i can only see myself making a beeline to the pantry for some trail mix.
Day 2
I realllly should get around to getting some posters for my side of the bedroom. I gotta find some that can challenge the nerdiness of my roomate’s NASA posters!
